We are lady crows united in our love for all that is delicious. The simple, the complicated, the familiar and the exotic- always fresh, always satisfying.

Started in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts but now have nests in San Francisco, Chicago and New York. We share recipes, cooking successes and cooking failures, what we made together and made apart, reviews of local eateries, tips on great ingredients and of course Cocktails.

CAWWWWW

A lot of people ask us why the crow.  We identify with the crow for many reasons:

• Crows are very clever and resourceful- see the fable titled The Crow and the Pitcher. In the kitchen that means if we are missing a certain  ingredient we don’t harp on it but rather think of interesting substitutes.  This is how some of the most delicious dishes are created- from problem solving through kitchen mishaps.  We are resourceful when it comes to stretching ingredients and making delicious meals to feed a crowd of hungry mouths on a budget.
• Crows are loyal- they mate for life and focus on family more so than other bird species.  Just picture the single crow pecking around for food- there is a whole family up in the trees looking out for the crow, just waiting to caw at any sign of danger. All of the Lady Crows share a passion for food and cooking, but friendship was what brought us all together before we ventured into the kitchen.  Being so close to one another and creating meals to feed our large family of friends is how Crows in the Kitchen was truly created.
• Finally, the treasured CAW. If you haven’t vocalized a “caw” you don’t know what you’re missing out on.  We always keep the kitchen environment causal and fun so true caws are reserved for our social escapades and for the man crows to help us with dishes or to fill up our wine glasses!
